City of New Orleans Office of Business and External Services (OBES)

The City of New Orleans’ Office of Business & External Services (OBES) was established to streamline the way residents, developers, and businesses interact with the City’s permitting, planning, and economic development departments. By bringing together multiple agencies under one roof, the downtown municipal office fosters greater collaboration, improves operational efficiency, and creates a more accessible experience for the public.

Working with the City of New Orleans and AGL Commercial Interiors, AOS furnished a variety of spaces throughout the facility, including conference rooms, filing and records storage areas, reception and waiting areas, open collaboration spaces, planning and administrative offices, private offices, and open plan workstations. The furnishings were selected to support a range of workstyles while providing the durability and flexibility required in a high-traffic government environment.

The completed workplace reflects the City’s commitment to delivering responsive public services through thoughtful, efficient design. By creating functional environments that support collaboration, organization, and day-to-day operations, the project provides government employees with a workplace designed to better serve the residents and businesses of New Orleans.
