As part of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center’s $557 million Capital Improvements Plan (CIP), the Stage II renovations showcase a transformative vision for one of the country’s largest and most iconic event spaces. Designed by local architecture and interior design firm NANO, this phase reflects the essence of New Orleans through artful interpretations of the city’s rhythms, urban patterns, and natural forces.
The project reimagines key public spaces and revitalizes corridors with comfortable, modern areas for guests. Designed to complement the Convention Center’s evolving needs, these spaces support continuous activity while offering moments of rest and interaction along busy event routes. The furniture introduces a colorful mix of booths, stools, ottomans, and tables that energize the expansive interiors. Whether stopping for a phone call or gathering with colleagues between sessions, visitors are encouraged to engage with the space on their own terms.
This project builds on AOS’ ongoing relationship with the Convention Center, including previous enhancements, such as neighborhood-themed charging stations. As the result, the Phase II renovations echo the Convention Center’s commitment to providing world-class, modern amenities that embody New Orleans’ “Built to Host!” reputation for generations to come.
