11 Jun Jefferson Parish Honors AOS’ 50th Anniversary

AOS Interior Environments was honored by the Jefferson Parish Council during its June 10, 2026 meeting at the Joseph S. Yenni Building, where Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken presented a proclamation recognizing the company’s 50th anniversary and contributions to the regional economy, workforce development, and community investment.

The proclamation commemorates five decades of growth since Gene Russ founded AOS in 1976. What began as a storage and filing supply company has evolved into Louisiana and Mississippi’s largest locally owned design-assist contractor, providing commercial furniture, manufactured interior construction, and specialty storage solutions throughout the Gulf South.

The recognition is especially meaningful because of AOS’ longstanding connection to Jefferson Parish, which has played an important role in the company’s growth over the past five decades. AOS operated from offices in Two Lakeway Tower during the 1990s before relocating its headquarters to downtown New Orleans in 2021. Today, the company operates a 58,000-square-foot Distribution Center and Warehouse in Jefferson that serves as the backbone of its installation, logistics, and project delivery operations throughout the Gulf South. More than half of AOS’ employees work from the Jefferson facility, and Jefferson Parish is home to the largest concentration of the company’s workforce.

During the presentation, Councilwoman Van Vrancken highlighted AOS’ commitment to integrity, accountability, innovation, and service, as well as its impact on healthcare, education, government, cultural institutions, and private-sector organizations throughout the region. Over the years, AOS has worked with organizations across Jefferson Parish, including the JEDCO Finance Center, WRSTBND, Maritime Partners, and the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans Practice Facility, helping create spaces where people work, innovate, and connect. The proclamation also recognized the company’s investment in educational opportunities, community partnerships, and scholarship programs.

The honor comes as Jefferson Parish continues to build on the momentum of its bicentennial celebration. Throughout its 200th anniversary year, parish leaders emphasized business growth, public-private partnerships, economic opportunity, and strategic investment in the community’s future. From the adaptive reuse of historic properties like Primary Workspace in Gretna to major investments in healthcare, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, Jefferson Parish continues to attract new opportunities while supporting the growth of established businesses.

Robert Breaux, Trip Russ, Suzanne Dumez, and Eve Arnold accepted the proclamation on behalf of AOS, reflecting on the company’s deep appreciation for the employees, clients, partners, and community supporters whose trust, collaboration, and commitment have helped shape AOS over the past 50 years.
