Alder Hotel | AOS Interior Environments
After a two-year renovation and restoration, the Alder Hotel pays tribute to its mid-century modern roots. Formerly the historic Bristow Tower originally designed by Mathes Bergman (now Mathes Brierre), the facility served as a residency for physicians, nurses and other hospital staff of Southern Baptist Hospital. The building was left vacant between 1995 and 2015, but is now part of the Ochsner Baptist campus and was redeveloped into the Alder Hotel. As a part of its renovation and restoration, Bristow Tower was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. Inspired by the 1950s and 1960s, CDI Solutions selected AOS to source furnishings for the reception, lobby, breakfast area, business center and conference room. A neutral color palette with bold pops of color and clean lines compliments the building’s classic trademarks of the International Style and crisp angular design. With its close proximity to the Ochsner Baptist Medical Campus, Tulane University and Loyola University, the hotel offers a convenient and comfortable stay for visitors of the medical center or families of students. The sleek 90-room hotel provides guests with charming, reminiscent accommodations that are nestled in the Uptown neighborhood and near the bustling Freret Street corridor.
